Our principles

Human potential. Shared progress.

Three principles shape every bid our members submit together and every programme they deliver. They are how we make decisions, and how we ask to be held to account.

What we commit to

Access for everyone

Inclusive, accessible learning. Technology should remove barriers to education, not create new ones.

  • We design for accessibility from the start, targeting WCAG 2.2 AA as a minimum for digital services.
  • We involve disabled learners and educators in design and testing wherever we can.
  • We consider connectivity, devices and language so that programmes reach the learners who need them most.

AI with accountability

Human oversight. Privacy. Trust. AI can support learning, but people stay responsible for decisions.

  • Educators and humans remain in control of decisions that affect learners.
  • We are transparent about where and how AI is used, and why.
  • We minimise the learner data we collect and protect it in line with applicable law.
  • We assess AI tools for bias, accuracy and suitability before they reach learners.

Stronger together

Educators, institutions and technology. The best programmes combine complementary strengths.

  • Our members bid and deliver as one partnership, with clear roles and shared accountability.
  • We put educators' expertise at the centre of programme design.
  • We aim to leave institutions with lasting capability rather than dependency.

Principles you can hold us to.

We want our principles to be tested, not just stated. If you see us falling short of them, we want to know.
